Where We Be
OURAY & BRECKENRIDGE, COLORADO

We got an offer on our home on Sep 9,
the evening before a planned trip to
Breckenridge with our friends Richard
and Kristy. We decided not to let the
mere sale of a home get in the way of
a fun outing with great friends, so we
headed off as planned. It turned out to
be a perfect little three-day getaway.
In July we made a trip to Ouray, Silverton,
and Durango in southwest Colorado with our
friend Alan and his mom. We drove the
Million Dollar Highway and shared an idyllic
picnic at stunning Yankee Boy Basin. Robin
and I also hiked Bear Creek Trail. The trail
barely clings to the precipice and offers
some spectacular dropoffs -- and views.
We put our home on the market in June a mere
two weeks after returning from New Zealand
and Fiji. Most of our pages highlight faraway
places, but here's a page that celebrates the
simple pleasures of home. It's a place we'll
always associate with our Sheltie "Chaucer"
and a sizable chunk of our early married years
when we first moved to Colorado.
